The enchanted/cursed tile.

Location: Margaret's place.
What: Playing MJ, yelling each other off.
When: 4/29/06. After Laney.
Why: Haven't played it for a while.

It was fun. I'm to the left. Mars won that round.

Who would've heard of a curse tile? Well, apparently, this is the case. Announcing the "EIGHT HOLES" tile.

The tile that started out with both helen and I needing the same tile. won at the same time.

The tile that ended a game with a tie when Helen and I had a pair of them and need one more of the "EIGHT HOLE" tile to win.

My 2 "eight holes" If I have one more, I'd have won.

AND when The tile is mentioned, Mars get's flowers.

see those "flower tiles" to the right? Her left hand covers one more tile.

Ever heard of "keep friends close, but keep enemies closer'? "eight hole' tile, I'll become your Friend. Just don't let me lose again.
It's helen's cursed tile as well.

I can wait for another MJ game.

Teen Council.

I finally made my way to Vicky and am invited back to the Teen Council, aka COTC-Council of The Crazies.
This is one of the candidates running for Oakland Mayor. Sigh, Yolanda and Anna shouldn't have left so early. =[
* We have i think 14 members of COTC. Some members left early so there's only a few of us remaining to take the picture. Picture taken by our Advisor Vicky.

Ok, from left to right. Margaret, Jenny, Stephanie, Jes(me), Sally, Wilson. Bottom: Helen (sis), Victoria.

and this is another picture. hm. I think both are good.

The meeting went very well. I was so stunned at the events I missed out on. I'm glad to be back. and with all the members of COTC, we'll strive. XD

School once more.

First day at School.

The long awaited drive, and my bro goes like "Wow, I couldn't even stand the Saturday drives. Now everyday? I don't think I can last."

Nice words. Jynxer.

That's 6:30 am, and that's a lot of cars in the morning. Probably had coffee or that drinkable yogurt from the commercials. I had porridge and had to run. Nearly forgot my backpack along the way.

Where I was sitting at in the office waiting for uh. That woman to help me. I forgot her name, and she was telling me these freaky things like.

In Cantonese:

Woman: Jessica, be a good student, smart in school and hang out with the good side ok?

Jessica: Um. OK.

Woman: Don't hang around with the "bad" people and you will be fine.

In English:

Woman: Have a nice school day.

That mini talk had a scare on me. I hang out with good friends, right?

ELD test? What THE? I'm FLUENT thank you very much. AW well. It was easy for me. No. the tester didn't catch me taking this. XD.

Trying to stay in the office to get over 3rd period. I still hate chem. I guess I'm experiencing near-trauma.

There's that women that asks every student "why are you here?" when he/she walks into the office. Hm. Also very nice.

Costco foods.

I went to Costco today.
This is what I brought.

I ate half of that.

I love chocolate chip cookies, and Costco makes it just right. Not too soft nor crunchy=chewy.
It's freshbaked as well. I couldn't resist getting a box. Luckily my parents agreed.

YUM. Cinnamon. that's my breakfast for the remaining school year. I think I'll overindulge.
My excuse is: I'm a growing child.

Both my brother's. I love the marble drink SOOO much. and I pretty much forgot how to read katakana aready. so what does that say? anyone?

I like the drink not because of the "drink" itself but of..

Yes. The picture. It's so [kawaii] cute. I couldn't bring myself to throw cute bottles away.

So my mom basically took care of that job.

Last but not least....

Insect Repellent. For China-mosquitoes. Not gonna get me now huh mos-quit-oes?

cupertino fare..well

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The beginning of this blog starts with the door of my chem. class. I just hate it. that's all.
ok moving on. Note this is Random picture #1.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is sensei and my japanese class friends. My first friends from Monta Vista. Thanks for being there for me.

uh. yes. I'm a nerd with glasses at school, but it's funny how people doesn't see it that way.

I, sensei, xiao (above) justin.

oh. these are some houses I pass by everytime I head home.

House #1 Heading out of MV parking lot.

more will be uploaded later. that stupid computer hates me again.

House #2 and 3.

#3 is still in construction. Rather large.

House #4
Wow. Now that's a stretch. So complicated. Stupid car blocking. >=0

House #5 Large.

I like the garages and the sophisticated style. There's usually 2 mercedes in front. I guess they are currently at work.

There, that's what they call "monster houses" in Cupertino.

and I don't live in those. Been inside, but never lived inside.

For privacy reasons, I will not post my place up.

This is where Dad makes a right turn, and the part where he goes "Move faster you stupid car! Can you even drive? I bet you're one lousy student driver!" and he drones on and on...

Hey it's the modern Pony Express!

After the turn ,we pass by the wonderful lovely Cupertino Post Office. So clean... It's magnificent!

If only other places are as clean as Cupertino, I say I'm taking this ALL for granted. No really.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More Random Pictures.

This is emo sally and sis. I guess they're having a moment of ...silence.

Hey! I want to play MJ too! You stupid mars and sis! (or maybe sally and wayne).
Then suddenly I'm mesmerized by the heavenly MJ tiles.

I am hereby introducing...

My pikachu. This is by far the largest one I own. If you have noticed, this mouse appears in almost ever "bed" room picture I've posted. Such a star.

This concludes my blog session. comments! Just to say hi or a sound out a random thought. =D

12 April, 2006

NO pictures

I will not have pictures today due to the neverending uploading process.

Anyone from Monta Vista/Encinal will want to get through this week so we can enjoy ourselves for the next 7 days. Well, it'll be sweet watching our Oakland/Piedmont peers cramming their homeworks on Sunday.

Coffee doesn't work on me anymore. I drank 2 cups of coffee, went to school, yet still fall alsleep during STAR testing. Right after I got back home, I slept for 2 hours, had dinner, and another hour. Now I'm even more fatigue.

This has been an interesting blog isn't it? X[.

Pictures will be up again tomorrow!

Helen's [sis] room.

Last Saturday, I went to Sis' place, and this is her magnificent room.

The giant 'drawer' to the right is from Ikea. We brought the SAME one. =D but how is her room so clean? look at her books, stacked up neatly on the shelf. Doesn't she ever touch it? I can never imagine my room like this.

That's to the right of the first image. We have a similar (maybe same?) shelf as well. but this is how mine looks:

Let's say we have...different tastes ok? I opt for a more urban look while she opts for insert word here look.

Hm... let's compare desks, shall we?

um..ok. she wins. both messy, but I'm far worse.

That's sis and mars (I believe) in the background. her bed's pretty neat. I rate it a 9 out of 10.

These are Mars' shoes. She LOVES them. So why not have this posted. In relation to this blog, that's Sis' rug. Sierra brown. Crayola color. Like chocolate.

This is also sis' room. Mars on the background. Even her Computer desk is clean. T_T. Comments on my face lah? Oh yea, We have the same model computer and printer too.

Wow, we must love each other.

----------------------------------------------------------------
side note: Today was terrible. Slept during STAR testing session, woke up and everyone's almost done. I'm drinking coffee tomorrow whether I like it or not. What's after testing is Chemistry. Stupid pea-brain administration staff decides to mix up the schedule and put 2nd period as our first class. 4th period basically made up for 2nd b/c we watched another Hitler movie. Then for PE dance I did really..nothing.
So basically, I'm just drowning my sorrows in chem.

09 April, 2006

oakland chinatown

I am really tired now. I'm talking about 2:45 in the morning here.
so for the sake of ginny i'll blog a bit about my day.

So I was going on Xanga and checking my suscriptions. and what do most say?
"why am I not sleeping? because it's SPRING BREAK!".
Ok. so why am I NOT SLEEPING lah? because I am blogging.
spring break for me is still a good SEVEN days away.

anyways.

so I was heading for Oakland, and look how barren the land is. Not the usual walls that borders around the San Leandro-Oakland part. The nice scenery went on for the darn good half of the awesome 'trip'.

I believe this is the San Mateo Bridge (?) I'm unsure. I have to ask my dad later on that. Look at the distance of this. It takes 5 minutes to get that over with. I get the exotic scenery of the ocean and the beautified airplanes above. Mainly I just look at the airplanes. They're probably landing soon.

Finally in the proximity of Oakland. See the landscape? yes. and there's a train there. Probably Union Pacific.

These are my friends waiting for me to walk across the sidewalk in Oakland Chinatown. That's helen [sis], sally in the middle, and margaret [mars] to the right. Sally's camera SHY at this moment, in case you're wondering what the heck she's doing with her cd player.

My half drunk grass-jelly drink. From a tapioca shop The Sweet Booth. It sure gave me a stomach ache afterwards, but it was worth it. =D

This is the dog in front of Juice-a-go-go, another tapioca shop. Mars adored the dog soo much, so I've decided to post this here. Picture taken by Mars.

This is where I use to shop every freaking day with my mom. and the only reason she'd bring me is because I can help out with holding the grocery bags. I hate doing this but hey, she treats me with whatever i like if i help her. so of course I'm in. That place has been here since I moved in to Oakland, so I'd say it's been standing for more than 12 years.

This is where I used to live. It's one of the apartments there. I still love that place though. The building is situated at the heart of oakland chinatown and if i wanted to go anywhere, it's not a far walk compared from where I live now to the newly open BZ cafe (where Quickly's used to be)-thats an 30 minute walk we're talking about there.

To sum it up, I have a reverse city-shock. I know I head out to Oakland every week, but it's not the same anymore. I cannot attend my teen council meetings, I cannot hangout with my buddies, and I study like forever just for freaking Chem.

Yet, when I visited the Asian Branch Library, every librarian still remembers me. Isn't that something? =D They all said "I still remember you! I saw you grow up." then they used their hands to approximate my height back when i first met them . 12 years. they've been in the libaray for a wholesome 12 years. and I've been visiting the library for...12 years!!?!! WHOA i'm old.

See the difference compared to Sillicon Valley? Bay Area vs. Sillicon Valley. I love both.

07 April, 2006

Messy room, messy me.

ok. I assumed the last post was too long and boring since there's not a lot of comments.

Continuing on.

This is my breakfast.

During brunch I was soo hungry I couldn't stand it anymore. So I Ate my lunch.

Then I went hungry again.

Uh. I didn't name that title for nothing. This is what I wake up to: my...drawer. I'm currently fixing it! Don't laugh sis. I can aready hear you. Yes. I can still dig through that for my street clothes. It's not that complicated. Just dump everything out and...dump everything back in after desired clothing taken.

I never pack the day before. I'm too tired to even move a textbook at night. Thus,

This is what I attend to in the morning. My history homework's somewhere to the left I guess.

Well, at least my bed is made. That's my ipod usb cord on the rug.

Now u see how messy I am. I mean who has the time to organize? That is fixed naturally, like when u start your homework remove all the extraneous papers from the desk. Jes language: Dump them onto the floor, pick them up afterwards. If I'm not too tired that is.

I haven't changed at all have I? =S

06 April, 2006

Typically insane school day.

People are often wondering how my life is like in Monta Vista High School in Cupertino.
So to satisfy many curiousities, I'll show you a little tidbit of how a school day is like.

*note: It is not as accurate as I hoped because I have to respect the student bodies that did not enjoy being in camera.

Today was afterall a NONTYPICAL schoolday. I thought this day would be ordinary but I was dead wrong.
I didn't sleep during Tutorial (description below as u read)
There was a Diversity performance. Which was not quite diverse as the majority of the student body are Asians. Hence the majority of the performances are Indian/chinese dances, chinese martial arts, indian drums. There is one french accapella group though.
Made a new friend.
We were doing excersises in Japanese Class. -__-''. ironically I didn't have pe due to diversity perfomances.

This is how I wake up. Eyes drooping, tries to smile and take in the "Today is a great school day" attitude. Blah. Who am I kidding? Who wants to wake up at 6:00 and go to school lah?

This is the locker I share with 2 other girlfriends. What's here is all their stuff. They all left aready because...I'm late for school again. Dumped my history and Japanese work and left.

Yes. I'm THAT late. This is the Academic Quad. There's also a Rally Court but I don't frequent there as much.

The holy LONG walk to 1st period World literature class. Nah. The room's in the middle there somewhere. The doors swing out so that's what the yellow swipe is for.

This is in my World Literature class. Yes. I still have 8 more days. That's just FYI for some people.

This is Ginny. She's in my World History class and very COOL. So smart it scares me. Oh, and this is my Chemistry [chem.] room. I hope to never ever set foot in it ever again next year.

This is Ginny again. She's staring at me b/c she's SHOCKED. haha. This is during tutorial. Tutorial is a 30 minute period where the teachers are all open for office hours, but mostly we just hurry to a classroom and do our upcoming periods homework.

Today is an exception. Normally I run to Japanese class so I can sleep. It's 30 minutes of Free-catching-up sleep there! If you're wondering the time, it says 9:26.

This is Joselyn. She's very nice. Help me out in Chemistry A LOT. Without her I'd have left Chemistry Honors. So Thank you!

This is the Academic Quad. from another perspective. At first I was at the left corner there. This is brunch time. Heading to 3rd period.

This is my 3rd period classroom from where I sit. Since teachers here prohibit the taking of pictures during classtime, I took this right after everyone left. That's Mr. Schmidt, my business teacher, and a random dude. Mr. S always sits there and does "stuff" with his laptop. No one really knows what he really "does" though.

The front of my World History class. I took this because it's my next period. 4th to be exact.

Brunch. This is my coolass friend Priscilla here! She's cool because 1) she has camera. We brought one the same day! 2) She loves to pose and she does it GOOD. 3) She just is. She's in my Japanese class. Location: Food Court; it's located outdoors.

This is my 5th period math class. The desk with the binder and backpack is where I currently sit. The teacher currently went out to run some errands.

This is Jonathan(sp!?). He's another Japanese class friend. Very cool. Just like Pris. He's getting ready to eat his Togos sandwich. (and I go T__T)

Lunch. Sensei was teaching a few students b/c they wanted extra help. You can see Jonathan in the corner.

This is currently what's in front of me. A computer. With the Monta Vista Website.

Ya know it's so scary how open Monta Vista is. Like this is often what you see right in front of the Girl's bathroom stalls:

Like aren't they afraid of people stealing your belongings? Apparently not. If you do that in Oakland Schools, it'll be gone before you even notice. That's why this school is great. So safe and clean. =D

This is the bday girl!!! What she's holding is her presents. Luckily I got her to pose! XD Now that i thought of it, today is my lil bro's bday too. So give it up for both of them! =D

This is what gets funky. The japanese room was cleared in the center, and we're doing a memorizing exercise. It's basically a little excersise of touching our body parts so we can get in sync with JAP vocab.

I got to embarrass myself at least once in this blog right? So this is me doing the exersises. Picture taken courtesy of Jonathan. -__-''

So that ends the day lah.

Also, shout outs to people that performed in the Diversity Performances 2nd half.
Sorry I couldn't perform! I'll try to do it next year! Next year I'd be ready. I'll attend all my meetings lol.

So: For the Hip Hop kru: To Katherine Woo, and SAMantha tong WOOT!

for CDC solo perfomance: Jenny FONG!! You're soo good!! I didn't really get to talk to you but we know each other and you're great!!

for Martial Arts Club, it goes to Ginny Li and Minjie Chen,

and for Chinese Dance Club: (sorry! the gap is not noticable! lol =D) To everyone in it. All of you were GREAT!!
jes.
